What is the Experience?

Take this two and half hour Milford Sound Tour and be immersed in the beauty of Fiordland. You'll also learn about the history of the region as you cruise through one of New Zealand's most photographed locations.

You’ll see sheer cliffs, tumbling waterfalls, lush rainforest and native wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch while marvelling at these truly spectacular natural surroundings. Seals are often seen and dolphins frequent the harbour, while unique Fiordland Crested Penguins can be spotted in the right season.

Where is it located?

The tour starts from Milford itself but you could add in the coach package from Queenstown (5-6 hours one way) or Te Anau (3-Hours). The road can be tricky, particularly in winter, and Real Journeys have experienced coach drivers who do this drive every day and know all the great places to stop along the way. They will also pick you up from most accommodation and main visitors centres in both towns.

Milford Sound has an annual rainfall of 6,813mm and is known as the wettest place in New Zealand and one of the wettest in the world. The amazing amount of rainfall creates dozens of waterfalls that come and go with the changing volume of rain so every Milford experience can be different, depending on when you go.
