Interesting Fact?

On the 16th October 1839, William Wakefield of the New Zealand Company arrived in the Kapiti Coast area and purchased land for permanent European settlement from Maori chief Te Rauparaha, renowned as a fighting leader and author of the Kamate Kamate haka made famous by New Zealand's rugby team.
